Hungary striker Barnabas Varga is stable in hospital after being carried off on a stretcher following a mid-air clash with Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn in the first half of their Euro 2024 match on Tuesday.

Varga was stretchered off the pitch after the collision, which occurred as both players went for a high ball in the Scotland penalty area.

The Hungarian Football Federation said in a statement that Varga is conscious and responsive, and that his condition is stable.

The incident occurred in the 23rd minute of the match, which is currently underway at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
